Title: Shame on HVC Intentional Chocolate
Post by: Kerry on July 20, 2009, 05:04:35 AM
The name "Hawaiian Vintage Chocolate HVC Intentional Chocolate [INT123]" suggests that their beans are grown in Hawaii and that the chocolate is processed in Hawaii. Neither assumption is true. Worse yet, it implies that theirs is an ancient Hawaiian recipe.

My surfing the Internet reveals that their beans are not grown in Hawaii and that their reputation among Hawaii's cacao growers is less than admirable.

Their "benefits" hype verges on deceit.*

* As of 1/10/22 I've been unable to find their study results (due "March and April") on their website (http://www.hwvi.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=11&osCsid=551fe7a62a3ea69504fce27f9455458d).

I'll remove/edit this post if/when I receive info contrary to my assessment.
