joy:

Is there a correlation between looking out for one's teachers and the experience of prosperity, happiness and health?

Is it possible that the joy that's missing in some people's lives has to do with the fact that they have been remiss in acknowledging their teachers?

For the most part we ensure that teachers can't afford to have the high-end toys. Others get to buy and upgrade frequently to a state of the art computer but very few teachers have the most recent computers at home or school. Few teachers ever get to vacation at a five-star hotel; school parking lots attest to the fact that few can afford a new car.

Most everyone passes by tables of volunteers at shopping malls begging for book money yet we know that many teachers spend their own money for school supplies.

Most parents know that teachers deserve and require "summer vacations" because of the time teachers spend each day outside of school hours preparing and grading; parents know that such time away from parents and students is required for a teacher's mental stability.
