Annoying disrespectful voice of HPR-1's 1:00 am disc jockey
« on: February 08, 2017, 05:27:29 AM »
A "disc jockey"* around 1:00 am on HPR-1  sounds like someone must have told him that they like his slurring-singsong-sliding monotone. It's hard to believe that someone at HPR hired him. One expects such a voice on AM radio selling used cars. He does not give his name. I use the words "disc jockey" as opposed to announcer because of his personality-driven voice, trying to make a name for himself by sounding what he believes to be sexy.

The fact that HPR doesn't provide a listener's forum for us to post suggestions is the very reason for this forum.

* The term disck jockey refers to the typical personalities of AM radio whose job it is to create a recognizable personality. We have come to expect public radio stations to have low key announcers whoses personalities don't get in the way of the content; one is left with the content not a judgement of the person's presentation.
